Pharmacology is a unique and dynamic branch of pharmacy, since it involves the understanding of how a drug deals with the human body and how the human body responds to the drug. The department offers a post-graduate programme in Pharmacology which focuses on research and coursework related to advanced systemic pharmacology, screening and evaluation of drugs, development of new models for screening of various drugs etc. The department also offers post-graduate programme in Clinical Pharmacy which focuses on research and courses related to pharmacotherapeutics, clinical and hospital pharmacy, clinical trials and research, Pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomicsetc. During the course, in both pharmacology and clinical pharmacy, subject seminar is delivered by the student, where the student carries out an extensive literature search on a particular topic, prepare and deliver presentations under the guidance of the faculty. The students are motivated for overall development including- personality development, scientific writing, data interpretation, presentation, documentation, good laboratory practices, communication and soft skills. Alumni students of the department are placed in research and development, medical writing, CRO’s and reputed academic institutions.
